After cringing far too many times as we read the ingredients labels on some of the most popular dog treat lines in the business, we decided it was time for a change. We couldn't fathom feeding our beloved golden retriever things like "animal by-products," "monosodiumglutomate (MSG)," or many other unpleasant, and vague, ingredients. Even the so-called "healthy" treats left us skeptical.
That's why we started Bag of Bones Barkery—to offer dogs everywhere a healthy, dog-gone delicious alternative to the bland, sometimes unrecognizable, treats you find in chain pet stores. We use real ingredients (bacon, cheese, banana, peanut butter, and honey, just to name a few). Browse the ingredients list on any of our treats, and you'll never find any additives or preservatives of any kind. And we intend to keep it that way. We wouldn't offer anything to your dog that we wouldn't wave around in front of our own golden retrievers and Chief Treat Testers, Chloe and Chance. We mix, roll, cut, and bake every item in our NJ store!
Since starting our business in 2005 and opening our first (and current) location in 2007, our goal has always been to provide healthy, lip-smacking, tail-wagging treats for barkers all over.
