1-Hour Initial Consultation

Together, we will address both current and longstanding health issues affecting your pet in order to gain a complete understanding of his/her present healthcare requirements. Dr. Sathish will perform a full clinical examination of your pet from a holistic integrative perspective. Any immediate issues will be addressed, if necessary, using one of the appropriate holistic therapies offered by Dr Sathish. The 1-hour initial consultation is vital, as it allows us to lay the foundation for future sessions and to decide on the most beneficial therapies for your pet(s).

Acupressure

Acupuncture is the practice of penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles which are then activated through gentle and specific movements of the practitioner's hands or with electrical stimulation. Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe the body has acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians. These pathways create an energy flow (Qi, pronounced "chee") through the body that is responsible for overall health. Disruption of the energy flow can cause disease. By applying acupuncture to certain points, it is thought to improve the flow of Qi, thereby improving health.

Energy Healing and Pet Reiki

Because animals are masters of energetic integration, they are highly receptive to energy healing. Hands-on healing is a 2,000-year-old form of natural therapy in which universal healing energy is channeled to your pet through the hands of a trained healer Reiki may involve the use of Chinese symbols and is a complete energy healing system that heals at all four levels of an animal's being -- physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Reiki can be especially useful for emotional healing following trauma, abuse and fear, and could also help relax your pet in stressful situations.

Emotional Freedom Technique

Emotional Freedom technique, sometimes referred to simply as EFT, is based on the same principles as acupuncture and acupressure. The process involves tapping on certain key points on the body while simultaneously verbalizing key statements in order to release negative emotions. It works on the premise that all negative emotions are the result of a disruption in the body's energy system. There are many different ways to 'tap' with an animal, and Dr. Sathish will use the technique that is most appropriate to your pet's individual preference.

Herbal Remedies

Our culture has become overly dependant upon pharmaceutical drugs. As a holistic integrative veterinarian and healer, Dr. Sathish has found that herbs can be safe and effective alternatives to drugs. Many herbs have chemical and energetic effects and can be used to fight pathogens, reduce inflammation and drain toxins. Furthermore, herbs are now very useful as vitamin and mineral-enhancing supplements. Chinese herbal formulas, Ayurvedic preparations and Western culinary herbs may be recommended if Dr. Sathish sees benefit in doing so.

Customized Dietary Advice

Food is fuel. And food is medicine A well-balanced diet is vital to your pet's overall holistic health and wellbeing. Raw or cooked, kibble or wet, prescription or natural? These issues can be discussed based on your pet's age and health conditions. Deciding on the most appropriate diet for your pet these days can be a very challenging and confusing decision to make. Dr Sathish can help guide you in making an informed decision based on great options available in today's pet market.

Pet Bereavement Counseling

Dealing with the loss of a much loved pet can be a very difficult experience to many of us. Having lost pets herself, Dr. Sathish can empathize completely. Feelings of loss and even guilt can become paralyzing. You may question if you gave your pet the "best" treatment or even worry about euthanasia associated with assisted death. These are only a few of the concerns that can be a major part of the grieving process. As a healer, veterinarian and pet guardian, Dr. Sathish can help you navigate on this very trying journey.

Pet Behavior Guidance

Aggression, depression, separation anxiety, phobias, inappropriate urination and defecation are all very common behavioral problems seen in animal practices. Holistic therapies, dog training, environmental enrichment and/or pharmaceuticals from your vet can all be used to help in these situations. However, one must possess expertise in all these modalities to decide on the appropriate method to bring about quick, long-term results. Dr Sathish can help resolve these issues herself or refer you to a specializing professional she feels would provide your pet with the results he/she deserves.
